The Wolves of Chernobyl are my Roman Empire
Recent studies show that the wolves in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone have developed mutations that make them more resilient against cancer, which is a reality of living in this radioactive region. The fact that animals have lived, and thrived, in this area is fascinating to me. This piece also features a rhododendron forest, bridal veil mushrooms, a Roman ruin, a juvenile eastern spotted newt, wood anemone. I enjoyed the accidental mirroring geometry of the pantheon dome and the bridal veil mushrooms.
The original piece was made with pen, ink & watercolor on paper. This piece has been professionally photographed and reproduced on archival, all-natural, 100% cotton paper.
The original pen & ink drawing/watercolor is available.
